Finding joy in everyday moments 🌈

Hiii

How are you?

Today I’m popping in with a little bit of news about a brand new dye project that I’m excited to share 🤭 Plus an invitation. So keep reading for that.

.

But first, here are three moments from the past week that have made me feel truly alive.

I’d love to encourage you to take some time to reflect on your own special moments and journal some thoughts 📝

.

My three things:

🌹 Hammering flowers and herbs onto fabric on my kitchen floor, bathed in streaming sunlight. My three-year-old, Rose, skipped into the garden with her basket to gather more plants, whilst enthusiastically learning their names, “coreopsis, marigold, cosmos, scabiosa, sage…” We took turns with the hammer and she very gently pounded some of her own petals. I even managed to record a new video class for Natural Dye Club, all while she happily pottered between the kitchen and garden.

🌳 A local walk with my seven-year-old led us to a little hill that he calls his “favourite place in the world”. We collected conkers, I listened to his stories, and we made 'fish skeletons' from beech leaves—tearing out the leafy parts between the veins, a favourite tactile activity of mine. We even made dinosaur sounds with grass, making a whistle from a blade of grass—something my grandmother taught me when I was his age. It always makes my children giggle, almost with embarrassment, as I’m so loud 🤭

💦 After two days of torrential rain, I slipped on my coat and dashed into the garden to pick a basketful of homegrown coreopsis flowers for a dye pot. I got soaked of course, but it was worth it. I had a very special project planned—dyeing wool felt for photos in a new eBook that I’ve written (more on that in just a moment). I gently heated the dye pot to coax out a rich orange dye before straining the flowers, then submerged wool felt into the rich coloured dye, allowing it to drink in the hue. In that moment, I remembered why I love natural dyeing so much: it feels magical to watch fibres absorb the colours of the rainbow.

Life doesn’t always feel this easy, but these were some little moments where everything seemed to flow ❤️

What makes you feel most alive?

Now, onto the project & invitation that I hinted at earlier :)
.

I recently joined an online community called The Sewing Circle, hosted by my good friend Natalie Trusler.

This beautiful space was created with mums and early childhood educators in mind.

It’s a place to:

🪡 sew magical treasures and keepsakes,

🍃 celebrate the seasons,

🎂 and celebrate special milestones in your child's life.

It’s also a way to refuel your creative spirit and connect with like-minded women.

.

Today, Natalie reopened the doors to her beautiful online membership and community, The Sewing Circle.

To celebrate the occasion, I’ve created a special eBook on dyeing wool felt with natural dyes—one of the materials featured in many of Natalie’s lovely projects.

If you join The Sewing Circle before the doors close on Saturday, I’d love to send you a copy of my 27-page eBook as a gift. Simply sign up, then send me a quick email letting me know you’ve joined, and I’ll forward the book your way 🥳

Remember, doors close this Saturday, so if it speaks to you, don’t wait too long to join.

.

Wishing you a week filled with slow, mindful moments ✨

P.S. My friend Natalie has just reopened the doors to her magical Sewing Circle, and if you join before they close on Saturday, I’ll send you a copy of my brand new eBook, Dyeing Wool Felt with Flowers. This book is exclusive to this occasion, and it’s the only way to get it right now!

Hiii A few weeks ago, I was wandering through my local museum and stumbled upon the weaving section. A small sign caught my eye. It read: "Did you know that weaving is beneficial for your health and well-being? It helps manage stress and encourages relaxation." I couldn’t help but smile—crafters like us already know how much better we feel when we’re creating with our hands. I love that it’s being recognised more widely now. Crafting is about so much more than creating something beautiful....
