From 3 plants to a whole rainbow 🌈

Hi friend, I wanted to share a little peek behind the scenes of something I’ve been quietly working on for a few months. On Monday, I’m releasing a new course called The Natural Dye Rainbow — and it’s all about creating a full spectrum of colours using just three traditional dyes: madder ❤️ weld 💛 and indigo 🩵 I still find it incredible that you can get reds, pinks, oranges, yellows, greens, blues and purples from such a tiny handful of plants. But that’s the magic of layering and overdyeing. It’s all about colour theory. These dyes can be bought online from various natural dye supply shops worldwide — you can find your local shops in my directory. The ingredients are very easy to source. In the course, there are some bonus lessons on how to grow these plants, so you can grow your own rainbow of dyes on your balcony or in your garden. And did I mention that these three dyes are actually medicinal plants too? It always fascinates me how there is such a cross over between natural dyes and herbalism. Over the next few months, I’ll be dyeing myself and my children some clothes using the recipes from the course. I’ve told them they can pick whichever colours they like.
